What is the situation for the Dutch process industry and what are the investment prospects? To answer this and other questions the Machevo & Bulk Association has a major survey carried out every year by the Jaarbeurs Fair. Because Van Beek is a leading player in the sector, this year our General Manager Perry Verberne was interviewed for the sector survey.
Social media as a marketing channel
It emerged in the interview that Van Beek not only leads the business to business sector in the technological field, but also in the area of customer service. For example Van Beek has already been active on social media such as Twitter and Facebook for some time.
Very few companies in the sector use social media as a marketing channel yet. But this is a logical step for an innovative company like Van Beek. “If you show you keep up with modern communication channels that reflects on your products and service provision. We are leading the way in product development. And we also show this via social media” is Verberne’s philosophy.
Result of Machevo 2015 sector survey
The survey by the Machevo & Bulk Association shows that according to the process industry and the customers of this sector the recovery of economic development is taking on a structural form. In 2013 both parties stated that turnover had improved compared with the previous year. This recovery continued in 2014 and growth is again predicted for 2015. For the members of the association a growth in turnover of 3.7% was achieved in 2014 compared with the previous year. For 2015 an average growth in turnover of 4.7%is expected.
The process industry and the customers of this sector therefore take a positive view of the development of turnover this year. This increased confidence can be seen in the growing drive for innovation. Over half of companies who took part in the survey had marketed innovative solutions in the past year.
