Working with various companies and schools in the Tilburg and Den Bosch region, we do our utmost to enthuse young people about a career in engineering. Annual highlights are the Tech Challenge and Technology Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Technology at school<\/strong>
\n\"Jongeren-interesseren-voor-techniek-doen-we-samen\"During the Tech Challenge, groups of primary school pupils from the municipality of Heusden are asked to design a boat at our company\u2019s site and at other technical companies. They all use a toolbox containing the same materials and follow a lesson plan specially compiled for the Tech Challenge. Students from De Overlaat comprehensive school in Waalwijk supervise these group 7 pupils. The aim of this annual event: to introduce more technology lessons into primary schools.<\/p>\n

Technology Day<\/strong>
\n\"Jongeren-interesseren-voor-techniek-doen-we-samen\"To refresh the rather conventional image of our sector, this year was the fourth time that we have participated in the Technology Day. This gave us and 40 other technical companies the best opportunity to talk to interested young people and lateral entrants about our profession, and to demonstrate that technology is all around us. The participating educational institutions closely complement the technical courses that are available throughout the region. Technology Day is organised by Platform Techniek de Langstraat, and this year it was held in Nieuwkuijk.<\/p>\n

Activity days with technical companies<\/strong>
\n\"\"In addition to Technology Day, we organise two Activity Days for young people in cooperation with other technical companies. They learn about the various career options available in their neighbourhood and are then able to explore which discipline would best suit their interests. By engaging with these young people, we hope one day to welcome some of them as interns, graduates or employees!<\/p>\n

Internships and graduation projects at Van Beek<\/strong>
\nWe offer plenty of internships and (graduation) assignments<\/a> in the fields of mechanical engineering, technical business administration, IT, marketing & sales. We also welcome enthusiastic \u2018BBL\u2019 students (students who combine work with learning). There is always a place for these students in our production department. We are currently collaborating with Koning Willem I College, MVM, ROC Tilburg, SVMT and Avans University of Applied Sciences.<\/p>\n

Getting young people interested in technology is something Van Beek has been doing for over 15 years. We are always interested in collaborating with schools and companies in our region. Together, we can demonstrate how amazing a career in engineering can be!<\/p>\n
