Separate screws

In addition to screw conveyor systems, we also manufacture separate screws for all types of screw conveyors, including for machines that are not manufactured by us. Almost all screw types and sizes are available; full blade screws, screws with internal cut and/or paddle screws, either with or without a shaft, in almost any type of material, and of the diameter, length and pitch you require.

The heart of the screw conveyor
The screw is responsible for the efficient movement of bulk goods. This important component is also often the most vulnerable to wear. This is because the screw is in direct contact with the transported material, and rotates constantly during operation of the screw conveyor. Timely replacement of the screw is very important for the continued operation of your machine.

The easy way with Van Beek
Ordering screws from Van Beek is easy. Naturally, we have the drawings of your Van Beek machine to hand. However, you may be trying to locate a screw for a machine that was not manufactured by us? We can make one for you. You simply supply the technical drawing, and we will manufacture the screw in the exact size you require. Perhaps the technical drawing is not available? In which case, we are happy to come and measure the screw on site.

Screw blades
Our fully automatic screw forming bench enables us to produce small diameter screw blades, it has the capacity to accommodate sizes from an external diameter of 18mm up to 100mm. By screw blades we mean a spiral without a core, made from strips of flat or round 304 or 316 stainless steel. These screw blades are produced either as single pieces or in small batches, resulting in relatively short delivery times. After manufacture, the screw blades may then be fitted with a drive shaft or a core. Are you wondering whether we have a specific size, one that is either larger or smaller than the range indicated above? Please don’t hesitate to contact us

Cost-effective solution
Reduced capacity, frequent downtime or increased energy consumption could mean that the screw and/or other parts need to be replaced. It is important to carry out regular maintenance and also monitor the condition of the conveyor in order to take timely action. This can avoid unnecessary costs.

The benefits of replacement
With a new screw fitted, a conveyor can often remain operational for years. Especially when this screw is made of durable materials and maintenance and inspection are regularly carried out. A prerequisite is that the other conveyor components such as the trough and the bearings are in good condition.

Repair or replace?
Replacing the screw becomes beneficial when the screw is either too worn or damaged, the cost of repair is too high compared to the cost of replacement, or when the structural integrity of the screw is compromised, thereby making repairs impossible.
When deciding between repair or replacement, it is important to carry out a cost-benefit analysis and to take into account factors such as the age of the screw conveyor, the expected service life following repair, and overall operational efficiency. Naturally, we can advise you on these considerations.

Screw blades
Do you want to make or repair a conveyor screw yourself? In which case, we are also able to supply separate screw blades, also known as screw segments.
