Mayor Jan Hamming and the aldermen of Heusden visited our company last week. Our move to our new premises had aroused the curiosity of the Municipal Executive and we were of course pleased to talk about our approach. The first enthusiastic posts appeared on LinkedIn almost immediately afterwards.
The Municipal Executive of the Municipality of Heusden was very impressed by our far-reaching automated working method. One example is that we have integrated our ERP and CAD system, so that each component in the 3D design is provided with comprehensive information with a direct link to the shop floor. We also told them about our participation in a robotisation project and the use of a robot for internal transport.
Global supplier with regional connection
We are a global supplier, but that does not mean that we have lost sight of the importance of a good regional connection. Without the expertise of our partners in the immediate vicinity it would be more difficult to supply a high quality screw conveyor system at a competitive price.
We contribute
We hold a leading position by keeping on top of the latest developments. Our growth makes it possible to take on new employees and to invest in them. We hope that we were able to make the way in which Van Beek is an asset to the region clear to the municipal administration, not only in the area of jobs, but also where innovative capacity is concerned.
Commendation of Mayor on LinkedIn
We seem to have got our message across. Afterwards Mayor Jan Hamming described us on LinkedIn as ‘a wonderful innovative metal company that specialises in unique special screw conveyors’. “The challenge for companies like Van Beek is to find specialist staff: professionals in technology.” Hamming stressed the importance of cooperation between government, education and businesses in this and pointed out that his municipality likes to invest in this. “Both in the interest of job seekers, employers and a strong economy in the region.”
Expertise close to home
Van Beek has already been established in Drunen since 1982. There is a lot of expertise present in this region as regards metal and engineering. There is good reason why the Metal Valley business park was set up here, as a knowledge cluster for metal and engineering in the Netherlands, which is where we are located.
