Van Beek Schroeftransport will be competing again this year for the Industrial Processing trophy: the Process Innovation Prize (PIP). Sisca, our innovative online customised configurator for screw conveyor systems, has been nominated for the trade award. The winner will be announced during the Industrial Processing – World of Technology & Science (WoTS) trade fair, which takes place from Tuesday 27 September to Friday 30 September 2022 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
At the last PIP event in 2018, our ground-breaking screw heat exchanger, Twister, won both the trade award as well as the public’s award. “We are proud and honoured that the expert jury has nominated Sisca for the PIP 2022. We have not been idle since winning the PIP professional and public awards in 2018, and with Sisca we have demonstrated that we continue to innovate, both in products and services for our customers. Hopefully we will manage to win one or more prizes again,” says Van Beek’s Managing Director Perry Verberne.
Smart self-service solution
The PIP is an initiative of the Machevo & Bulk Association and exhibition organiser FHI. This prestigious award recognises innovative products and solutions in the process industry. Van Beek is very proud that this smart self-service solution, developed by our own engineers, is among the nominees. Sisca is not simply an online configurator, but a smart customised configurator that puts together a tube, trough or omega trough conveyor, step-by-step based on the data entered. The combination of properties of the product to be conveyed and the production process are always taken into consideration.
Sharing knowledge with customers
“We are now able to share with our customers the expertise and knowledge that is inside the minds of our engineers. The online engineer is certainly not a replacement for our sales engineers, however, it collates our customers’ initial information requirements regarding price and delivery time”, says Verberne, who emphasizes that Sisca also calculates in real-time. Van Beek will continue to develop the smart self-service solution over the coming years, and further expand the configuration options to include, among other things, double screws, various types of inlet, single-sided screws with bearings and multiple inlets or outlets.
